Everything we get asked
What does a fractional executive cost compared with a full time hire?
A full time executive in British Columbia is a senior salary plus benefits, recruiting fees and months of ramp, and most companies under $30M do not have forty hours of executive work a week in any one function. Our Fractional Executive band is $25K to $60K per month, outcome based, with a three month minimum, and an Advisory Retainer runs $8K to $25K per month. You buy the judgement and the authority without the idle time, and you can scale the seat down as your own people grow.
How many hours a week do you work in our business?
Enough to run the function, not to fill a timesheet. A typical fractional seat includes a weekly leadership meeting, working sessions with your managers and the hours our specialists spend on execution. We price by outcome and seat, never by the hour, so nobody is watching a clock. If the work needs more time in a given month, it gets it.
Who is actually on the team?
Ali Sedighi, MBA, who leads every engagement personally and takes fractional CMO and CTO seats himself, and more than thirty specialists across finance, operations, sales systems, data, marketing, technology and development, distributed across Canada. Specialists join your engagement by function and you meet every person who works in your business. Ali has founded eight companies since 2007.
How is the Growth Partner program paid?
Through revenue share, equity or a hybrid of a reduced retainer plus a bonus on results, agreed in a term sheet before work begins and reviewed by your lawyer. It is for Canadian companies doing roughly $500K to $30M with proven demand. Where the fit is not there, we recommend our standard outcome based bands instead, and we say so early.
How long until I can step back from the day to day?
Most owners feel the difference inside the first month, when a weekly meeting and a scorecard start catching problems before they reach you. Installing a full operating cadence takes about a quarter. Stepping back from the seats you hold personally takes longer and depends on how many decisions only you can make today. We count that number from week one and report it.
How do you handle confidentiality?
We sign NDAs on request before we see anything, and most engagements begin that way. Your numbers, customers, staff matters and plans stay inside the engagement. We never publish client names or results without written permission, which is why the results we cite publicly come from Ali's own agencies. Access to your systems is documented and removed when the engagement ends.
Do you work remotely or on site?
Both. We are based in Vancouver and work on site across British Columbia, with video and phone between visits. Operations and leadership work benefits from time in the building, so early weeks of a COO or operations engagement usually include site days. Marketing, technology and sales systems work runs well by video. Clients in other provinces are served by video, phone and on site when it matters.
How does Ali work day to day?
Ali leads every engagement personally. He runs the diagnosis, chairs the weekly leadership meeting, sets the plan and brings specialists from his team for the execution. He is reachable by phone or text at (604) 632-4959 and by email at ali@sedighi.ca, and he replies within one business day. He is direct, operational and more interested in your calendar and your scorecard than in a slide deck.
Where do you work?
Our primary market is British Columbia: Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, the Thompson region and Northern BC. We work with clients in every province by video, phone and on site. Ali is based in Vancouver and meets clients in person there for consultations and site work.
Are you a recruitment agency?
No. We support hiring by designing the seat, the scorecard, the interview process and the onboarding, and by sitting in on interviews when you want a second view. We are not a licensed recruitment agency, we charge no placement fees, and employment contracts and employment standards questions go to your employment lawyer. If a search needs an agency, we help you brief one.
What is the first step?
A Strategy Session: 90 minutes with Ali for $499, by video, phone or in person in Vancouver. You leave with a clear view of which seats are missing, what to outsource first and what it would cost. Shorter sessions exist for startups ($349, 60 minutes) and business acquisitions ($399, 60 minutes). Call or text (604) 632-4959 or email ali@sedighi.ca.
Do you take over our accounts and systems?
No. Everything we build or manage is in your company's name from the first day: ad accounts, CRM, repositories, documents, domains and automations. We document logins and processes as we go, and if we part ways you keep a working system and the manual for running it. Depending on an outside firm for ownership of your own systems is a risk we will not create.
How do you charge, and is there a lock in?
Outcome based, never hourly. Workshops run two to four weeks at $30K to $80K, a 90 Day Sprint $80K to $250K, an Advisory Retainer $8K to $25K per month and a Fractional Executive seat $25K to $60K per month with a three month minimum. Retainers continue month to month after the minimum and you can stop at the end of any month. Growth Partner terms are agreed separately.
What happens if we need legal, tax or HR advice?
We work alongside licensed professionals and we do not replace them. Employment contracts, terminations and employment standards go to your employment lawyer. Tax, filings and assurance go to your CPA. Equity, securities and corporate matters go to your lawyer and registered advisers. We build the team and the systems, and we make sure the right professional is in the room before anything regulated is decided.
