Management team

A management team is the group of leaders who run the company's functions day to day: operations, sales, marketing, finance and technology, or whatever subset the business needs. Each member owns a seat, a scorecard and a set of decisions. The owner or investor above them governs: sets direction, approves plans and holds the team accountable, rather than making every operating decision.
In British Columbia most companies under $30M have no management team in this sense. They have an owner and staff, and the owner is the team. For an investor who has bought such a business, the absence is the central risk: the seller was the management team, and they are leaving. Building one from scratch takes months of hiring, during which the business must still run.
In practice a management team can be built, rented or combined. Built means hiring permanent leaders into designed seats, which takes time and is where org design and hiring support apply. Rented means fractional and interim executives who hold the seats now and hand over later. Ali Sedighi's team provides the rented version for owners and for investors who have just acquired a business, with operators in each seat from day one, a first hundred days plan, documentation of everything the seller carried in their head and a plan for the permanent team. Growth Partner terms are available where the fit is right.
